I am a professional actor, writer, and educator who believes that the key to helping a student often lies in finding what inspires them, challenges them, drives them, and makes them unique. A specialist in the arts, English, and humanities, I have a BFA in Theatre (with a minor in Music Performance) from Shorter University's prestigious school of Fine Arts. After earning my degree, I studied English for two years at Minnesota State University, earning a Bachelor's equivalent in Literature. My Master of Arts degree is pending the completion of my thesis.

I am currently completing my Master’s degree at Hunter College in Secondary Special Education. BRENDA

I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from John Brown University. I taught 4th - 6th grade in a self-contained classroom at a private school in Clackamas, Oregon. In the Denver area, I substituted K - 12 for about 10 years and also tutored part-time. I moved to Southern California in 2004 and for the past 11 years have worked as a private music instructor as well as tutor. It brings me great joy to watch the “light bulbs” turn on for students in a given subject area.

I received a BSBA in Accounting from Roosevelt University in Chicago. I owned my own Accounting and Tax practice for 20 years. I was also a Member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange as a Market Maker, Floor Broker. I became very knowledgeable in Options Industry and decided to teach students who want to pass the exams necessary to be in the securities business. Those Series exam are 4, 6, 7, 24, and 63.

I am now tutoring college students in Financial and Managerial Accounting and love watching them absorb the knowledge and move up the ladder in their field.

Spending the last ten years traveling around the United States has allowed me to resume my academic career with resounding vigor. I am currently a second semester junior, majoring in English, at Virginia Commonwealth University. Following a passion for music, I received a BA in Music Performance from McMurry University with a specialty in percussion, and have since enjoyed a successful career as a composer and freelance performer with a variety of performing groups and orchestras. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching both middle and high schools across Texas for a number of years, many of which achieved awards and competitive recognition in their respective categories, and have taught private lessons for over a decade. I am an actress living in Los Angeles, currently pursuing my dream of working in the film and television industry.  While I am not a household name, yet, I have had success both in Film/TV and on the stage.  I received a BA in Theatre and a minor in Communication from The University of Southern California. I have had extensive training in both acting for camera and acting for the stage. And, I understand that an artist never stops learning, growing and cultivating skills that will help him/her succeed in this business.

I have also been a substitute teacher and tutor since 2007. As a substitute teacher I taught students from private schools to charter schools, students from different socioeconomic backgrounds and all grade levels. And the same can be said for my tutoring. I have worked with tutoring companies and as a private tutor.  My tutoring focus is primarily English and History for all grade levels, and Basic Math. I am a college student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics. I have prior experience with formal and recreational tutoring in Spanish and Physics at a high school level, as well as musical subjects, particularly music technology. I was born in Scotland, where I received my early education before attending the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Divinity. My adult life has been dedicated to teaching, counseling and working in Social Work and related fields. I am currently in my 13th year of teaching.  During my years in education I have worked with all grades K-12. My current position is at a local high school.
